25 March 21 - The Diary of Seb Mole, Aged 9 and ½

My name is Seb and I’m 9 and ½. I’m in 3rd class.

Clive from Bounce Crazy said that I am one of their best customers and asked me to write about how I feel about their bouncy castles. Clive, who is in our house is called the Bouncy Castle Man, said I could say anything I want and my teacher said it could pass as this week’s “free writing” homework. “Winner winner chicken dinner,” said I!

For my 3rd birthday, I had a star bouncer castle. All my cousins came. It was fun … actually I don’t remember, because I was only 3! But Mum said I loved it and cried when it had to go two days later!

When I turned 4, I had a normal bouncy castle. Well when I say normal, it looked like an actual real life castle and had a cool Disney theme. As well as my cousins, some of the neighbours came too. My baby sister had arrived, but she was tiny and too young to join the fun.

For my 5th birthday party, I was in Junior Infants and Mum and Dad threw a big party for the whole class in our garden. This time we had another bouncy castle, but it was even bigger than when I was 4 and it had a really fast slide on the side. There was a basketball hoop too. That was the best party!

Well it was the best until my 6th birthday. Not only did we have a bouncy castle and a separate even bigger slide, we also had a popcorn machine. This time it was only the boys from my class.

When I turned 7, I was convinced I was a cowboy and had a Cowboy themed castle.

At 8, I had a combined birthday and communion party and my parents went all out. We had a bootcamp obstacle course and Mum organised army style party stuff to go with the theme.

At 9, we were in lockdown and I had no bouncy castle for my birthday. I think this is the worst thing about lockdown.

Mum and Dad have just organised a bouncy surprise for Easter just for me and my baby sister. I’m not sure what it will be yet as it’s a surprise but we can’t wait! Even with just the two of us (she is now 5) we can still have fun. Beats the same 5km walk anyway!

For my 10th birthday I have asked for the interactive bouncy castle. It has loads of different games and we can split the party into teams. Mum says I might be too old for bouncy castles, but no way is this true. I’ve already planned next year’s Rock Festival obstacle course! Dad said I can have music playing and he’ll do the BBQ!

Thanks to the Bouncy Castle Man and Bounce Crazy for always providing the best parties.

Disclaimer … ok seriously a 9 ½ year old didn’t write this, but we’re convinced that this is what they would write if asked!
